In 1972 I became the first LCS employee, sorting coins and waiting on customers after school. I've worked mostly for LCS since then, with breaks for college and a two year stint working for coin wholesalers in California. Read more...  Paul ManderscheidPaul Manderscheid, Inventory Manager and Senior NumismatistPaul became a professional coin dealer at the age of 14 when he set up his own booth at a coin show. Paul first started working at LCS in 1972, the company's second employee, while attending high school.  He is the author of several articles on coin errors and tokens and exonumia.  He also wrote the book "Lansing's Money."  Paul is listed as a contributing researcher in several token and paper money catalogs.  His ever changing variety of numismatic interests have led to his encyclopedic knowledge on almost any monetary subject.  Paul earned the Roethke Memorial Award for the Best Mich-Matist Article of 2002.  This research article, titled Michigan Lumber Tokens, was 30 pages long.Read more...  Thomas CoulsonThomas Coulson, CPA, Senior NumismatistI consider myself blessed to have a career that is so enjoyable  and satisfying. I joined the Liberty Coin Service family in March of 2006. Prior to that I worked in retail and wholesale sales and owned my own antique business. I started collecting coins when I was quite young and when I got older, my interests turned to collecting and refinishing antique furniture. I have furnished my home with antique furniture and lighting. I also collect cranberry glassware. When I enjoy most about working here at Libery Coin is the interaction with customers and the staff. My primary duties are purchasing from the public. And my greatest satisfaction is when I am able to pay people more for their items than they are expecting, which happens most of the time. I also like to have fun with people and make their visit an enjoyable one. Selling your merchandise can sometimes be difficult and I want to make it as pleasant as possible. Outside of work my interests are working in the yard, water gardening, camping, water-skiing, watching football and MSU sports. I have been married to my wife, Kim, for 33 years and have an adult son, Mike, who is studying to become a nurse in California.   Greg Bates, Customer Service  I guess I am a rarity because I really do love my job.
