1922 Peace Silver Dollar – Philadelphia Mint
Offered here is a 1922 Peace Silver Dollar, one of the classic silver dollars of early 20th-century American coinage. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Dollar was introduced to commemorate the restoration of peace following World War I.
The obverse features Lady Liberty wearing a radiant crown, with the date 1922 clearly visible below. The reverse depicts a bald eagle perched upon a rock with rays in the background, along with the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
This example shows circulation wear, surface marks, scratches, discoloration and toning, giving it a distinctive, well-traveled appearance. No mint mark is visible, indicating that this coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
