1921 Morgan Silver Dollar – Classic 90% Silver – Philadelphia Mint
Offered here is a 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar, the final-year issue of the original Morgan Dollar series and one of the most recognizable coins in American numismatics.
The obverse features George T. Morgan’s classic portrait of Lady Liberty, surrounded by 13 stars with the date 1921 below. The reverse depicts a heraldic American eagle with outstretched wings, clutching arrows and an olive branch beneath the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
This example displays attractive natural-looking gray, charcoal, and darker peripheral toning, giving the coin plenty of vintage character. The major design elements remain well defined, including Liberty’s hair and cap details and much of the eagle’s feather detail. Circulation marks, scratches, toning and other surface characteristics are visible consistent with an ungraded vintage silver dollar.
