1902-O Barber Dime – New Orleans Mint – 90% Silver
Offered here is a 1902-O Barber Dime, struck at the historic New Orleans Mint. Designed by Charles E. Barber, the Barber Dime was issued from 1892 through 1916 and remains a popular series among collectors of classic U.S. silver coinage.
The obverse features Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath, surrounded by “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” with the date 1902 below. The reverse displays the denomination “ONE DIME” within a wreath of agricultural elements. The “O” mint mark appears beneath the wreath, identifying this example as a New Orleans issue.
This coin is in well-circulated condition, displaying considerable wear across Liberty's portrait and the reverse wreath. The date, denomination and mint mark remain clearly identifiable. The surfaces show circulation marks, scratches, discoloration and age-related toning consistent with a coin that has seen extensive use.
