Offered hereon CoinZip from trusted vendor West Coast Coins is an attractive 1827 Capped Bust Half Dollar, featuring the desirable Square Base 2 variety and certified AU55 by CAC Grading.
Struck during the classic early period of United States silver coinage, the Capped Bust Half Dollar is one of the most recognizable designs of the 19th century. The obverse features John Reich’s portrait of Liberty wearing a capped headband inscribed LIBERTY, surrounded by thirteen stars with the date 1827 below. The reverse displays the heraldic eagle with shield, olive branch and arrows, accompanied by E PLURIBUS UNUM and the denomination 50 C.
This example retains strong overall detail with only light circulation wear, consistent with the About Uncirculated grade. The surfaces display pleasing natural silver-gray coloration with subtle warmer toning, giving the coin an attractive, original appearance. Much of the finer detail remains evident throughout Liberty’s portrait, stars, eagle, shield, and lettering.
The coin is securely encapsulated and authenticated by CAC Grading at AU55, providing collectors with added confidence in authenticity and grade.
